I look forward to the Alaska State Fair every year - because, there's a booth there that makes fresh cut potato chips (from Alaskan Yukon Gold potatoes, what else?) and then smothers them in fresh chopped green garlic and Parmesan cheese. They'll make your eyes water.<BR/><BR/>Nathan, I fully intended to make this a hijack(tm) but the post reminds me of a phone call I had yesterday - the person I was talking was appalled at my recent post about why I won't vote for McCain. She explained to me, very carefully, that it was my duty to vote for McCain, if only in order to keep Obama out of the White House - Because (wait for it), Obama talks just like <I>Hitler</I> did in the 30's! Uh, uh, uh, Hitler? She said Obama scares her to death and while she doesn't like McCain, she sure as hell doesn't want a Hitler for President. <BR/><BR/>Hitler.<BR/><BR/>Um, yeah. She's in her 70's and a close relative so I didn't say much in response other than to tell her that I didn't agree. But seriously, Hitler?
