What The Hell Is Going On Here?

For some odd reason, the world seems to be suddenly obsessed with finding out about "check".  What kind of check?  I don't know.  But they're asking Google about it and Google is sending them all to me for the answer.

Here's a screenshot of the search phrases for the last 40 visitors to Polybloggimous (You'll have to biggify it to read it.) You can ignore the search for "Wrongnumber cock".  I am.
.
Just so you know that isn't some GoogleBot or other nefarious thingie, here's the locations those searches originated from:
They're from all over the place!

And this has been going on for days now.  Not that I'm really complaining, but my daily visits have almost doubled...and all because people are being sent to read this post.  I wonder if they're pleased with the results.

At any rate, does anyone out there have any idea what the sudden worldwide interest in "check" is?

Is it the post itself or one of the photos? From time to time my website will end up as one of the top results for Google Image searches for a certain quasi-celebrity.

I thought it was one of the images, but that doesn't seem to be the only thing it's hitting on. Hard to tell.

I can't ignore "wrongnumber cock"... I didn't even realize cocks were numbered (finite or otherwise with numbers attached on them). I must confess I have not yet met a cock with the wrong number, or any number for that matter. Should I get out more often?

On a side note: To my newbie eyes, the summary you have of your website looks so cool. The only stats I get are from blogspot and google analytics and they don't say much. May I be so bold as to inquire about where/how you got yours?

What Warner said.

(I think I'm using a low-level paid version, but I remember the free version still told me a lot more than Google did.)

Yeah, I have Sitemeter, Wordpress Stats and Google Analytics, and I ignore all of them except Sitemeter. Maybe I don't really understand how to pull information out of the other two, but I've never found them useful. I have Sitemeter installed on all of my blogs.

Thanks for the info, Warner, Nathan, and Megan.

Oh and also, I've found that between the feedjit visitor meter, the google analytics and the blogspot stats, the numbers never match. And inernational readers too never quite register properly. I know my cousins in France, Germany, etc. read my blog, because they send me texts and email feedback directly, but they don't always show up in my numbers. I know I am new and don't have a lot of visitors, but it'd be nice to know just how few people do visit.

Going now to go jump headfirst into sitemeterland. Thanks again!

I can't help but notice that all the search word links are the colour of unvisited sites. Except one.

What did you think you'd see when you clicked on "wrongnumber cock"?

And: Are you happier now that you've seen it?

Well I was curious what I'd posted that might get a hit from that search.

And now I don't even remember what it was. Google can send some odd folks your way.
