So, last night, I posted a long rant...it's the one below this post. It was bitching and moaning and whining. Yeah. I've got a blog; I'm allowed to do that. And you don't even have to read it if you don't want to. The title was a dead giveaway about content.
A lot of people will try to assign noble sentiments to bitching and moaning and whining. They say its cathartic. Bullshit. Bitching and moaning and whining is just childish venting. I'll cop to that without any argument. All it does is give me the chance to holler about how rough my life is and plead for sympathy. Having admitted that doesn't mean I don't think there's value in it. Venting is fun. And if anyone actually sympathizes...Yay!
BTW, I still haven't heard from the one who just decided not to come to work anymore, and in case it wasn't clear, I don't see his behavior as having any effect on my friendship with his brother. I'm fairly certain that to the extent my friend is aware of this situation, his reaction is probably something like, "WTF? I'm not getting involved." That's absolutely fine by me.
Sometimes you just gotta let loose, Nathan. Keep it inside and it becomes poison which tends to shoot out at the wrong person at the wrong time. We're here for ya.
~Signed: The brother of the guy who didn't show up, (via tropicaligal...my gal) who hopes this has NO reflection upon him or our friendship.
and BTW LAST time I stick my neck out for said wussy brother.
If you don't like whining and such on your blog, I suggest you file a grievance. UCF constitution, subsection 8, paragraph 3a clearly states I can go to any UCF endorsed blog and whine myself silly. So ppbppbpbpbpbbbttttttt.
I championing the adoption of "juicy heifer" (coined by Tom) when referring to UCF bylaws and such.
De Juicy Heifer bylaws say I don't gotta do notin' I don' wanta do.
And Sub-tropicaligal dude,
I was trying to keep you anonymous. Way to blow everyone's cover.
I'll email you.
There's nothing childish about venting.
There might be useful and childish ways to vent, but nothing wrong about venting itself. As Steve says, it's better to get it out of your system as early as possible. Holding it in just makes it grow.
Also: your vents in particular have the added bonus of providing intriguing glimpses into how movies are made. For that reason alone, I'm all for seeing as many of those as possible. ;)
I didn't say that just because I find my own bitching to be uselessly childish I'd stop doing it. To the contrary!
If you haven't noticed it I place a high value on uselessly childish.
