Workety, Work, Work, Work.

Yeah. I'm at work. Nothing of interest to report.

Move along...nothing to see here.

(Maybe later).

[Did I just Twitterfy my blog?]

Anywhere around here I can take a nap? I'm assuming that Anon GF makes sure Nathan keeps their place clean, but not sure if she actually comes in here to check.

Michelle, I am off today, so I will stand guard while you nap... I found a comfy sofa, and pillows and blankets in the closet here...NO ONE will disturb you...

So whose parking are you planning on disturbing today? :D

Tell me where your travels are taking you today and I'll let you know.

I have coned off Michelle's driveway, though.

That's okay, we don't go home until after going to the gym. I'm sure you'll be long gone by then.

And if not, I'll just walk up the street and ask the firemen to take their big axe to anything in my way.

Hey..You are supposed to be napping....
Back away from the napping woman...or leave chocolate and no one will get hurt.

So what is the worst moviemaking transgression against a SF novel you can think of? Since this is an open thread and all.

I'm torn between "Starship Troopers" and "Puppet Masters" personally - they both truly pegged the suck-meter AND completely lost the point of the original work.

Your nominations, please?

I don't know about a novel, but Star Wars Episodes I - III were transgressions against their own original movie / concept.

Not the worst, but a strong candidate - League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Wonderful comic. Wince and cringe inducing film. Even with Sean Connery.

Not SF. Fantasy. The Neverending Story.

Worst. Adaptation. Ever.

So disappointing because the book is cool and weird and dark and heartbreaking, and when the movie came out I dragged my wife and my best friend and his girlfriend to see it, assuring them it would be something special and -- ugh. I was teased for years over the talking-up I gave this thing. What's especially galling is that they've made two sequels and a TV show!

I read Jeff's comment quickly and thought he said "I dragged my wife and girlfriend" and thought: "Jeff is the man".

Regardless of the list of women in his life, I'm fairly certain that Jeff is the man. Hey, he taught me basic HTML (including the fact that it isn't an acronym for 'hate-mail'.
