GF: "And then I told her"...

The above sentence completed a discussion last addressed three hours ago.

I know all of you understand both sides of this one.

Oh yes, I understand.

The funny thing is - you knew exactly what she was talking about, didn't you?

We have moments like that in IRC chats all the time. Sometimes there will be days in between. ;)

Everyone in my house does it. The problem arises only then someone (usually my grandmother) attempts to complete a conversation they were having with someone else entirely.

I don't understand what the big deal is. I do this all the time. Of course, my Smart Man isn't as smart as he could be, because he stubbornly refuses to read my mind.

If he loved me, he'd read my mind. Just sayin'.

Reading minds, I reserve for when the discussion turns to "Do you remember when we got the whatchamacallit from Whoosis that time?

Really, women are multi-track queens who are able to sustain many simultaneous interwoven conversational threads at a time. We can drop them and pick them up days later with no loss of context.

I'm so glad you're able to keep up. :)

Occasionally I can be talking with the hub, and I'll come out with a total non-sequitur. He looks at me like I am giving him whiplash, and then I explain the four or five free association steps that took me from conversation A to topic B.

He thinks I'm nuts but loves me anyway.
