Oh. By The Way.

The "Design Nathan a New Avatar" Contest has been canceled due to extreme lack of interest. Yes, Jeri wanted a photo of me as raw material to work with. I, of course, never got around to providing said photo. Jeff, a week or two after the announcement said, "Contest? What contest?" That was the extent of commenting on, much less entering the contest.

I'll come up with some other contest during July and hopefully it will be one that inspires you all to ...oh...enter.

Jeri, I guess you're the winner since you're the only one who even said they wanted to participate. If you can remember what I said the prize would be, I'll send it post-haste! (I'm actually too apathetic about the whole thing to search my own archives and find out what I said it would be.)(And, no. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a matching Cooper Mini.)

It wasn't lack of interest for me, I want(ed) to see what people would come up with. It's lack of skill. I have a lack of skill in those areas, computationally. Sorry.

Actually, I think he was afraid. Notice that he has not come within two states of me - AND he does not want to send me a decent resolution head shot.

Nathan thinks I'm a nutjob! Nathan thinks I'm a stalker!

Woot! My job here is done! :D

I have no fear of the Jeri. I'll have you know I spent two weeks in Seattle in 2005 or 2006.

I might fear bad pictures of me becoming even worse avatars, but that's another story.

I have many fine computational skills, and the interwebs fear me, but I can't draw my way out of a paper bag.

But you'd make a great Dread Pirate Roberts.

Dread Pirate Roberts franchises available now!

Nathan, I didn't think you were chiding. I didn't want you to think it was lack of interest.

Oh, and to cross blogs....

Watch out for kitty interest in dangly bits in the shower and fascination with running water when you're using the toilet.

My talk is pretty smooth, I have it down to my 30 minutes with time for questions and database demos. Whew.

and don't forget, tomorrow is Michelle's birthday!

Tania,

re: Michelle's Birthday.

Do you mean like now!!!!! Now that it's 12:15 EST?

Holy Crap!

Let us descend.

Hey! It's 10:15 here in Denver, and 8:15 at home.

But what the hell! Let's go!!

I think you were going to give the contest winner stuff from your stash of movie loot. But I'm not huge on actually WINNING stuff from contests, more just on playing them. So no big deal.

Glad to know you don't think I'm a nutjob stalker. Yet. ;)

Dude, I need deadlines to work my magic. You stated the contest raison, but gave no closing date. An open-ended project is an unfinished project. Sometimes, a forgotten project. Stitch that on a pillow and give it to Teufel!

Of course there was an ending date. It was a contest. What was it? I forget.

Apathy! It's what all the cool kids are doing.
