Sophie from Shinola: How's That Workin' Out For You?

Part 26 is now posted on Kimby's blog. As always, the beginning of the story, the explanation for the inexplicable and links to all of the Sophie goodness can be found here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's been some discussion about keeping Sophie going for another round or two. I'd really prefer that we try to bring it to a close of some sort. There are 7 writers remaining including Kim who should be posting tonight sometime. Charles, who is in the last position has made a heartfelt request that the writer before him do the ending and he would do an Epilogue. (I'm not pushing that, just reminding you all.)

I'm pleased with what we've done with (and to) Sophie and the rest of the gang; I just want to move on. If you guys want to continue it somewhere else, I have no objection.

Now, having said that, I'm not the least averse to having another round robin with a different story and a different set of rules/guidelines. I'd be happy to come up with something for us to do next or maybe one of you would like to create and host it.

Let me know what you all think.

P.S. For those of you impatient folks with the RSS, sorry about posting half a headline and nothing else. Believe it or not...the cat hit the "Publish" button.

I think I'm the next to the last person. I'll see what I can do.

It's been fun, but I'll be glad when it's over.

I'm ready for Sophie to end. I've been having fun with her, but I can see boredom setting in soon.

Another game? I'm up for it.

I am really really sorry..but Sophie part 26 will not be up tonight. I did not get up until 630pm and was called to a meeting at 7! I am just back now and have to leave for work in 20 minutes. But i will finish the story on my break at work tonight and hopefully have it posted in the am.

It is a side affect of putting a 45+ hour work week into 4 days. I don't have much of a life 4 days out of the week.

I am up for another game..this is a great creative exercise.

In spite of those lousy excuses, we'll for give you...this time.

Nathan, you already know I'm for ending this NCI after Round 2. We've been good to Sophie, and she's been good to us. It's time for her to retire.

Another? Cool! I'm in.

Kim, thanks for the reprieve. That means I don't have to stop chatting tonight and slave over a hot keyboard. Hey, wait, that's what I'm doing anyway!

I'm all for a new round with something different. I think we've done about all we can with Sophie. It'll be interesting to see how the last 7 wrap this up.

I really enjoyed the story round robin as well, and would enjoy doing it again in one format or another.

Sophie? She's been fun - and I could write about her again - but I'd like to see the poor chiclet get some closure. ;)

Well this is starting to sound pretty much decided.

I have an idea brewing that I think y'all might like.

Thank goodness--I had nightmare visions of agreeing to a third part just so I wouldn't be the asshole who didn't want to do a third part. It was fun, but all good things come to an end.

It would be fun to do this again, but some downtime from it would be very nice, too.

Eric,

I've already got an idea kicking around for the next one, but I'll wait a little before starting it.

It'll have a very different set of guidelines aimed at achieving a much more linear story. Also, it's not SF.

Not SF? What are you THINKING? Please, no bodice-ripping historicals. ;)

Jeri,

Like I said, I'm still working out the details, but, for the moment, the story I'm thinking of will start in 1942 and it'll move through time as much as the individual writers choose to advance it.

Bodice ripping will be optional.

Jeri,

It could be Hulk like bodice ripping, as our heroine becomes hugely muscular, rips all her clothes to shreds, and then does the same to any evildoers.

Part 27 is up.

Damn, I wish I'd thought to do a bodice-ripping scene!
